The Legacy LA Best Buy Teen Tech Center (BBTTC) is a safe space for high school students ages 14-18 to learn, explore and create with technology! The Legacy LA Teen Tech Center is powered by Best Buy and The Clubhouse Network and will bring a variety of STEAM programming for young people in the Ramona Gardens community. This center will have industry-standard technology for young people to learn and create! Most jobs in the next decade will require the use of technology. Best Buy Teen Tech Centers help teens prepare for these careers through hands-on experience with tech, such as digital media, robotics, virtual reality, and 3D printing. We’re helping cultivate the next generation of inventors, engineers, and entrepreneurs.

THE CLUBHOUSE NETWORK
THE CLUBHOUSE NETWORK’S mission is to provide a creative and safe out-of-school learning environment where young people from underserved communities work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop new skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology. In support of that mission, The Clubhouse Network supports community-based Clubhouses around the world by providing start-up support, professional development, new technology innovations, evaluation and assessment, partnership opportunities, and access to an online community for youth, mentors, and staff.
Today, The Clubhouse Network is a global community comprised of more than 100 Clubhouses in 21 countries, providing 25,000 youth per year with access to resources, skills, and experiences to help them succeed in their careers, contribute to their communities, and lead outstanding lives.
THE CLUBHOUSE LEARNING APPROACH is designed to empower youth from all backgrounds to become more capable, creative, and confident learners. This approach is grounded in research from the fields of education, developmental and social psychology, cognitive science, and youth development. It builds on research on the role of affect and motivation in the learning process, the importance of social context, and the interplay between individual and community development. It leverages new technologies to support new types of learning experiences and engage young people who have been alienated by traditional educational approaches.
